 This course addresses the regulatory and commercial forces driving lead free implementation. The concepts of soldering and reworking through-hole lead free connections are presented, including care of the soldering iron/tips. Differences in the flow characteristics of tin/lead and lead-free joints and solder joint acceptability criteria are discussed. Soldering exercises include step-by-step pictorials for the installation and soldering/reworking of components.
